Mechanical Iris Lamp
Share
I got to design this month's kit, so that means mechanicals! I'm a big fan of mechanical irises and I've been wanting to do a lamp that uses an iris to determine the amount of light that comes out.

To that end, I've designed this mechanical iris reading light. Hang it over your reading spot and you can open up the iris for more direct light facing downwards!
-caleb kraft
parts included in this kit:
- Pendant lamp
- super glue
- bluetooth lightbulb
- 6x m3x6 screws
- 5x m3x20 screws
Download the files for the mechanical iris pendant on printables. Note that there is a version for smaller printers that requires glue.
Accessory

I always wanted a pair of these but never actually bought some. Now I have an excuse!
Filament Samples
What a treat we have this month! We're wanting to explore some more wild things, and we've found one that is about as wild as it gets.

SOAP.
yup, you read that right. One of the filaments included in this month's variety is soap. You can print it out and wash your hands with it. This is Soap filament by TimePlast. This is gen 5 of their soap filament which boasts more foaming action. I personally can't wait to try this one out. Be sure to check their web page before printing though, as they do have some advice for best results.
The remaining three samples are provided by CookieCAD this month. We wanted to send out colors that were befitting of the spooky season, so you got a variety of black and orange-ish materials.
