June 2025 - Motorized Escalator Model
Share
This little escalator designed by Alex Yu has been on our list for quite some time. We're happy to finally bring it to you.
Find the files for the motorized large one here: Motorized escalator on Makerworld
edit: you also need the rig for holding the steps while you assemble. it is the purple thing in my video. you can find it here https://makerworld.com/en/models/175289-functional-escalator-model-redux#profileId-193552
I do apologize for making you go to multiple places to download parts. I don't like to do that. - caleb. ---end of edit.
parts included in your box:
- 1x TT motor
- 1x usbc power board (3d printed shell for the power board is here)
- 1x usbc cable
- 1x usbc power brick
- 17x m3x14 screws
- 2x m3x25 screws
there's a smaller handheld one (not motorized) here: Tiny escalator on MakerWorld
Alex has designed several of these, but there wasn't a full video showing the entire process for the motorized one, so we made one.
Admittedly, it moves a bit quicker than we thought it would. If you've still got your PWM board laying around from the screw sorter last month, you could swap that out and probably get it to run a little slower.
This month's accessory
NFC tags can be super fun. Once you have them programmed, you just touch it to your phone and your phone does an action, like going to a website.
Check out the video on how to program them to send you to a website or read on in this link on how to use them to trigger shortcuts in apple products.
Filament
This is the very last month that we are doing filament for both Alien3D and Print Kits. Starting next month, it'll only be 4 different filaments.
